CAST

LINDA GLAZERMAN ROEDER (Adult Ruth, M7-Productions Board Member): Linda has been an actress and a singer for most of her life, playing lead roles in South Pacific, Barefoot in the Park, I’m Herbert, The Importance of Being Ernest, Fiddler on the Roof, Cinderella, Hidden the Musical (staged reading), and supporting roles in Oliver, Cabaret, and My Fair Lady. She also directed several musical theatre productions with students at Elkins Park School, including Luann, How to Eat Like a Child, Feelin’ Good, and Homeroom the Musical, for which she subsequently served as marketing director and associate producer.

After a wonderful career as an educator in Cheltenham Township School District, Linda is enjoying her second act in music and theatre, composing, producing, and making records under the stage name Lindarella Raye, and being the voice of California Spirit Radioshow from Montpelier, France.

Linda is honored to be playing Ruth in Hidden: A Musical, and has loved getting to know Ruth, whom she now considers a dear friend. It is a joy to be working with such an amazingly talented cast and production staff. Linda greatly appreciates the support she has received from friends and family near and far, and she feels blessed to be loved and encouraged every day by her future husband and life partner, Roy.


SYDNEY ZIMNEY (Reneé/Young Ruth): Sydney Zimney, a seasoned performer with a lifelong devotion to the stage, discovered her passion for theater, particularly musicals, at the tender age of 3. With each passing year, her love for the performing arts has flourished, shaping her into a versatile and captivating talent. Among Sydney’s repertoire of standout roles are the comedic brilliance of Ms. Hannigan in “Annie,” the whimsical charm of Jack in “Into the Woods,” and the playful antics of Timon in “The Lion King.” However, it was her portrayal of Renee in the world premiere of “Hidden: The Musical” that truly showcased her depth as an actress, earning acclaim and admiration. As Sydney eagerly anticipates reprising her role in this full production, her dedication to the craft and infectious enthusiasm promise an unforgettable theatrical experience. With a blend of skill, charisma, and a touch of magic, Sydney Zimney takes the stage ready to enchant audiences once more with her artistry and talent.


JAZZY SINKOFF (Maman/Lissy Kapp): A Philadelphia-based actress, Jazzy is thrilled to join this cast as Maman. She holds a BA in Musical Theatre from Marymount Manhattan College. Her notable roles include Victoria in My Princess Diana (Ailey Citigroup Theatre), Jessica in Sunday on the Rocks (Ted Wold Studios), and Clara in Marty (The York Theatre). Jazzy is elated to collaborate with such a talented cast and crew on this production. A special thanks to her friends and family with an extra shout out to her husband, Josh, for all of his love and support. This one’s for you Ted!


JOSHUA McHUGH (Papa/Benno Kapp): Joshua McHugh is thrilled to reprise the role of Benno Kapp in Hidden, having played the role in a staged reading last year. A graduate of Temple University with a degree in music education, he currently balances his passion for music with his role as a Technology Specialist for the School District of Springfield Township. As the director of the choir at Or Hadash synagogue in Ft. Washington, PA, Josh brings a wealth of musical experience to the stage. He is excited to continue his journey with the Hidden team. His other theatrical credits include Gregory Gardner in Cheltenham High School’s “A Chorus Line” and Linus Van Pelt in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” which he also co-directed and music directed.


KENNETH OLIN (Uncle Heinrich, Ensemble): Kenneth Olin is happy to join the cast for the premiere of this beautiful and impactful show. Most recently, he was in Nice Work If You Can Get It at the Barn Playhouse in Norristown, where he’s also performed in past seasons in Gypsy (Herbie), Spamalot (Not Dead Fred), and The Drowsy Chaperone (George). He has appeared with Methacton Community Theater in a spate of shows: City of Angels; How To Succeed in Business (Without Really Trying); Lend Me A Tenor (Bellhop); in Cabaret (Ernst Ludwig); and during the pandemic, you may have seen him with MCT online in It’s a Wonderful Life: a Radio Play. Pre-Covid MCT shows were She Loves Me (Headwaiter), Little Women (Mr. Laurence), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (King Louis XI), SHOUT! The Mod Musical, The Battle of Shallowford (Fred Martin), My Fair Lady (Jamie, Butler), and The Producers. He has also performed with JMT (Urinetown – Senator Fipp), KOP Players (Sweet Charity – Vittorio Vidal), Footlighters (Move Over Mrs. Markham), NCT (The Music Man, as part of the School Board/Quartet), and Norristown’s Centre Theater (The Fantasticks – Huckabee, The Sound of Music – Franz/Herr Zeller, and Ragtime – Henry Ford). Kenneth has a B.A. in Theatre Arts and works as a church administrator.


LISA McBREARTY (Aunt Sophie, Ensemble): Lisa is excited to bring this important show to life. Favorite past roles include: Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Lucinda in Into the Woods, and Enid in Legally Blonde. Lisa would like to thank her friends, family, voice teacher, Kim Russel, and the cast of Hidden for making this such a special project.


 

EVA STONE (Cousin Jeanette, Ensemble): Eva Stone has starred in many productions at Cedarbrook Middle School. In her free time, Eva enjoys dancing, baking and spending time with her friends and family. She feels that this production has been a wonderful learning experience and would like to thank Gabriel and Romeo for being supportive friends and cast mates.


GABE TELLEFSEN (Man from Resistance, Ensemble) is proud to be your Man From the Resistance. This is Gabe’s fourth time on stage, and his third time in a musical. He previously played The Wiz at Cedarbrook Theatre’s production of The Wiz, and played a variety of roles in Cedarbrook’s The Laramie Project. When not on stage, you might find Gabe playing bass or trombone, or hanging out with friends. He would say more, but he has to go back to resisting the Vichy! Au revoir!


ROMEO McCAIN (Train Conductor, Ensemble): Romeo is 14 years old and is currently a freshman at Lehigh Valley Charter Arts where he majors in theater. In the past he has played lead roles in In the Heights, The Laramie Project, and The Wiz, all at Cedarbrook Middle School. In his free time, Romeo enjoys playing guitar and songwriting. Romeo is very grateful to be a part of this production and would like to thank Gabe and Eva for always being by his side. He hopes you enjoy the show!


BILL THOMER (Monsieur Fedou, Ensemble): Bill is honored to be cast as Monsieur Fedou in Hidden: A Musical and wants to thank Zen for giving him this wonderful opportunity. Earlier this year he played “Bob” in Priscilla Queen of the Desert at the Forge Theatre. In 2023 he played “Lazar Wolf” in Fiddler on the Roof in Bryn Athyn, performed in Godspell at the Forge Theatre in June, and played “Cheese MacBreath” in Shakespeare in the Trailer Park in April at the Forge Theatre, and again in July at Barnstormers. He was “Benny Southstreet” in Guys and Dolls in 2022. In 2017 he played “Harry” and 3 other roles, in My Fair Lady, was the “Captain of the Inquisition” and a “Muleteer” in Man Of La Mancha, and was “Herman” in Sweet Charity. In 2016 he played “Caiaphas”, in Jesus Christ Superstar. Bill has a B.A. in Theater, and his early career credits include Guys and Dolls, West Side Story, and Jesus Christ Superstar, Ellard in The Foreigner, Felix in Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? as well as several children’s theater companies. When not performing on stage, Bill is an IT Engineer by day and a seasoned karaoke and piano bar singer by night.


CHRISTINE MacARTHUR  (Madame Fedou, Ensemble) returned to the stage last year after a 50-year hiatus, portraying Brigid in an adaptation of James Joyce’s Exiles at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. A former aspiring actress at Temple University, Christine later focused on raising her children while pursuing a career in education. She retired in 2018 after teaching English and Drama at Central High School in Philadelphia, and now teaches at the Osher LifeLong Learning Institute at Temple University. Christine is also an avid musician, playing the viola with The Old York Road Symphony Orchestra and violin with the Montgomery County Chorale and Orchestra. She continues to study piano and cello, and recently performed at the Salzburg Choral Festival in Austria with the Ambler Choral Society.  She is grateful for the opportunity to be part of this production of Hidden: A Musical.


ALLISON FEINSTEIN (Lucette Fedou, Ensemble): Allison Feinstein is a proud preschool teacher and theatre artist based in Northeast Philadelphia. She enjoys working both on and off stage with some of her favorite roles including Alice in Dance of Death, Ariel in Footloose, Erma in Anything Goes, and Jan in Grease. She hopes to one day play Natalie in Next to Normal (If you know anyone who is casting!). Allison has also served behind the scenes as the props designer for a production of Matilda the Musical, run lights and sound for Steel Magnolias, and has found a new joy of working in theatre education. She is grateful to have met Ruth during this production process and to share her story here today. She would also like to take a moment to thank her parents for their unwavering support and encouragement in all that she does!


JOHN KLINGES (Town Crier, Ensemble): John is excited to join this cast for this challenging piece. Last summer, he performed in 5 productions with the Delaware Valley Opera Co. including Susannah, Cavalleria Rusticana and I Pagliacci. He more recently appeared in The Theater Next Door’s (North Wales) Into the Woods (Wolf) and the Bryn Athyn Community Theater’s Fiddler on the Roof (Avram). In May, he appeared in the Ridgewood (RG&S) Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Co.’s productions of Dido and Aeneas and Trial by Jury (Usher). In June, he appeared in the Bucks County G&S Society’s production of Iolanthe. In July, he performed in Eccentric Theater Co.’s production of Beauty and the Beast. In October, John will appear with the Iolanthe Opera Co.’s production of Pirates of Penzance (Sergeant of Police) and the RG&S’s Iolanthe (Private Willis).


SOPHIA KOGAY (Emmy, Ensemble): Sophia is thrilled to join the cast of Hidden again for the first production! She has many years of theatre experience, her favorites including principal dancer in 13 the Musical (Playcrafters of Skippack), Sandy in Spongebob (Devon Prep), Jack in Into the Woods Jr (Valley Forge Middle School), and featured dance ensemble in Oklahoma! (Revival). Aside from theatre, Sophia enjoys dancing, singing, crocheting, and sewing as well as spending time with her family. She’d like to thank her parents, siblings, and the production team for this incredible opportunity.


SHELLEY GOODMAN (Madame Valat, Ensemble, M7-Productions Board Member): Shelley is thrilled to be part of the full production of Hidden: A Musical, with a wonderful and talented cast.  Since returning to the stage in 2023, she has had roles in The Drowsey Chaperone (Beth Shalom and Adath Jeshrun Players), Hidden: the Musical (staged reading), and Fiddler on the Roof (BACT). Other past performances included: Man of La Mancha, Cyrano, and Guys and Dolls.  She enjoys making new friends, as she is somewhat isolated in her “day” job as a clinical psychologist.  She is also grateful for the support from her children and grandchildren, Sammy and Ziggy (her 2 dogs) and Jackson, the hamster.


NEIL SIMONETTI (Monsieur Valat, Ensemble, Stage Manager): Neil has been involved in theater in Bryn Athyn with both Bryn Athyn College and Bryn Athyn Community Theater (BACT) for a long time.  Lately, his responsibilities as Department Chair of Mathematics and Computer Science at Bryn Athyn College have prevented him from taking on larger roles, as he did as Guildenstern in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead (2006), and Duke Orsino in Twelfth Night (2008), but he is happy to fill in with smaller roles when needed, such as Egeus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2019) and villager Yankel in Fiddler on the Roof (2023).


RICH WATANABE (Police Officer #1, Ensemble, M7-Productions Board Member): Rich has appeared onstage in many high school, community theatre, and dinner theatre productions throughout his 60+ years in musical theatre. Some of his roles have been: Harold Hill in The Music Man, Emile de Beque in South Pacific, The King in The King and I, Hajj the Beggar in Kismet, Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, and the Constable in and Assistant Director of Fiddler on the Roof. Rich is a huge fan of the Philly sports teams, especially the Phillies and the Eagles. Rich is extremely honored to be a part of this wonderful production of Hidden: A Musical and has loved working with this very talented cast and crew.


JOE FLANAGAN (Police Officer #2, Ensemble): no Bio


JENNIFER SHEFFIELD (Madame Kahn, Ensemble): Jennifer Sheffield is a lifelong choral singer, and this is her first return to theater since college (not counting a run of Trial by Jury in Philadelphia’s City Hall).  She has been singing with the Mendelssohn Chorus for 30 years, along with stints in Anna Crusis (1994-2001) and SpiralSong Vocal Ensemble (2002-2010), the latter as music director (2005-2010).  Jen is also a singer/songwriter, with performances at Mt. Airy Porchfest, the Folk Factory, and other local venues. Off the stage Jen is an editor, linguist, writer, research coordinator, gardener, and parent.  She’s honored to participate in this dramatization of Ruth’s story and has really enjoyed working with everyone.  Thanks to Nif, Micah, Mom, Dad, Doris, and the cats for all your support!


KATE SAPSIS (Mother Superior, Ensemble): Kate studied Musical Theatre at the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati. Kate is also a retired RN. Returning to the stage after a 40 year break to raise a family, Kate is happy to make her M7-Productions debut in HIDDEN: A Musical. Past roles include “Julie” in Carousel, “Kate” in The Taming of the Shrew”, and “Tracey” in Sweat.


LINDSAY MARCUS (she/her) (Sister Marie Louise, Ensemble) is thrilled to be working on Hidden with this cast and crew for the first time! Originally from Virginia and a graduate of James Madison University, Lindsay now resides in Philadelphia. She works as a teaching artist and music director with the Walnut Street Theatre education department, as well as at the James Beard Award winning restaurant Zahav. Some favorite past performance credits include Rapunzel (Into the Woods), Heather Duke (Heathers), and Mote (Midsummer Night’s Dream). RYAN SAVER (Nazi #1): Ryan is excited to be making his theater debut! By day he is an accountant in Philadelphia, and by night he is an aspiring not-accountant. In his free time, Ryan likes to watch movies endlessly, play guitar and piano adequately, and write screenplays ambitiously. Ryan joins this production with the memory of his late grandfather, Arkady, whose experience during WWII finds similarities to the main theme of Hidden. Love you forever, Dedushka.


BILL KUHFUSS (Nazi #2): Bill has never set foot on a stage, and prays that doing so won’t trigger his catatonia.


MARY DUNCAN (Ensemble): This is Mary’s debut as a singer in a musical. She was an English Teacher/Reading Specialist. When she retired, she came to cabaret singing in Bucks and Montgomery counties as an avocation. She did much work with ShowTime Charities and is a vocalist for a local church.


JENNIFER HUDES (Ensemble): has previously performed in three theatrical productions. She played the title role in Persephone, and also appeared in Sherlock Holmes and the Speckled Band, and Broth. Hidden is her first musical. In 2020, Jennifer published a children’s play called Scowl’s Nest.


CAROL THORPE (Ensemble): Carol is an actress and singer who also loves nature and animals. She has adopted a dog, a turtle, and three cats. She has had a passion for performing all her life. All through school she was in plays and musical performances. Carol sang the National Anthem at two Philadelphia Phillies games and performed in a concert at The White House. She has previously appeared in The Real Inspector Hound, Independence, Baby With The Bathwater, Voices Unheard, Heard, and I Stand Before You Naked.

Besides being on stage, Carol has spent many years performing in film and television. She is very excited and honored to return to the stage for this extremely moving story and fantastic production, along with the most incredible cast and crew. It has been such a joy to work with this production and she looks forward to many more shows with them in the future. Carol is also extremely grateful for the constant love and support from her family and friends.


PRODUCTION:

ZEN HARANTSCHUK (Director, M7-Productions Board Member): I am honored & privileged to direct these fine actors and actresses. This is my first world premiere, Hidden: A Musical. I have been involved with theatre for many years, acting in and directing shows like Fiddler on the Roof, Oklahoma, Mame, Hello Dolly, Chicago, Bye Bye Birdie, Guys & Dolls, Annie Get Your Gun, Promises Promises, and many more.

This production, with its talented actors & crew, is incredible and it was a great deal of fun to work on. I thank my Production staff, including my Musical Director, Musicians, Assistant Director,  and the Composers of Hidden: A Musical who have given me the space to direct. This is an important story to tell.


ALYSSA DAVIDSON (Music Director): Ms. Davidson is the Choral/Theater Director at Jenkintown Middle/High School, and the 4th-6th grade general music teacher at the Elementary School. Ms. Davidson directs the upper school vocal ensembles: The Vocal Experience, The JHS Concert Choir, The JHS Honors Chorale, the female a cappella vocal ensemble, The BelleTones, and the all -male a cappella vocal ensemble, Just the Guys. She also directs the elementary school vocal ensemble The Jenkintown Youth Chorale. Ms. Davidson is the head of the Jenkintown Theater Arts (JTA) department: producing a fall musical and spring drama each year. The 2024 production of Alice by Heart, was honored with the Philadelphia Independence Award for Best Musical of 2024, among several other accolades.

In addition, Ms. Davidson is the founder and director of Flutterbye Theater Company, a non-profit children’s theater company, creating innovative musicals at the Cheltenham Center for the Arts. This season, Flutterbye Theater performed The Addams Family in June 2024.

Ms. Davidson is the director of two-youth choirs at Keneseth Israel in Elkins Park. Hazak (meaning “strength”) comprised of singers from grades 4-6 and Zachor (meaning “remember”) a vocal ensemble whose ages range from 12-18. The choir’s mission is to bring to the forefront music of the Jewish people under the Nazi regime. Ms. Davidson has a private vocal and piano studio in Glenside, PA. Ms. Davidson holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Music Education from Rutgers University, and a Master’s in Multicultural Education from Eastern University.


JOELLE FAUCETTE (Choreographer, M7-Productions Board Member): Joelle grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and started her journey with dance when she was four years old. Classically trained in ballet, she danced with the Dance Del Bello company throughout childhood and began teaching at sixteen. She was first exposed to yoga in her early twenties and fell in love with the combination of breath-work, movement, and the healing power of this practice. She is a Life Coach and has received her Buti Yoga certification and RYT-200 certification, achieved the Reiki Master/Teacher level, and is the founder of mindbodySOL. Joelle has choreographed both dance and musical theater at a variety of levels, most recently with BACT for Fiddler on the Roof. She is thrilled to be the choreographer for the world premiere of Hidden.


ROY BRAVERMAN (Producer, M7-Productions President, Keyboards): Roy Braverman’s life revolves around music and sound. Playing keyboards since the age of four, he was in bands signed to RCA and Fantasy Records, toured with The Captain & Tennille and others, and played keyboards on many records, advertisements, films, and TV shows. Roy became a successful sound designer/editor/audio-post supervisor while also developing skills as a recording engineer, mixer, and music producer. He has created audio and produced music for film, TV, video games, theme parks, and cutting edge VR projects developed for Dreamworks/DreamLabs and Oculus Rift. His technical expertise has garnered him numerous awards, including a Silver Microphone, six Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reels, three Emmys, and a host of nominations. In the realm of theater, Roy has performed in the orchestras for Los Angeles productions of West Side Story, Candide, and Cabaret (onstage in a dress!), co-authored new music for a production of Good Woman of Setzuan at USC, mixed audio for Carousel, South Pacific, BACT’s production of Fiddler on the Roof and several other shows.


ANGELA KIEL (Assistant Producer, M7-Productions Board Member, Wardrobe/Props): A newly minted theater nerd, Angela has 20 years of project management and creative strategy experience. She’s been sewing and crafting since she was in first grade and always knew she wanted to work in production and costuming. Angela currently lives in the Philadelphia area with her ten-year-old daughter, dog, and cat. When she’s not assistant producing or costuming, she is supporting her daughter with school, swim team, hockey and more. She is on the board of directors for M7-Productions, president of her community swim club, as well as volunteering for her church and in her community. When she gets time she likes to make a little bit of her own art here and there.


NAOMI HAUS-ROTH (Set Design & Construction): Naomi has imagined and built acting spaces her entire life starting with cardboard, string and tape. At this moment she is working on two (more advanced) designs and helping construct a third. During a longtime career at the Mitchell Performing Arts Center she happily spread the infectious ‘love of theater’ bug to dozens of students and community members.
Her regional theatre credits include over two hundred productions, many as a Prop Master/Artisan at the McCarter (Princeton, NJ), Goodman
and Northlight Theater companies (Chicago). Her artisan credits also include stints in Chicago at the Steppenwolf, Royal George, Shakespeare Repertory and Court Theatres; and Broadway projects include The Roundabout and Walter Kerr Theatres.


JAIROUS L. PARKER (Sound): Jairous L. Parker is a sound designer and audio engineer. He is currently with Storybook Musical Theatre. Mr. Parker has designed and mixed sound for a diverse group of performing arts organizations, Philadelphia’s New Freedom Theatre, Prince Music Theater, Philadelphia Film Center, New York’s Manhattan Theater Club and Tribeca Performing Arts Center. A highlight of Jairous’s career is mixing more than 1170 performances of the Philadelphia hit Menopause The Musical.

 


RICK SPERLING (Script Consultant, Additional Dialogue): Rick Sperling is a youth arts consultant and freelance actor, director, playwright, and script development specialist. For his groundbreaking work as founder and artistic director of Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit for 27 years, Sperling was named Michiganian of the Year by the Detroit News and received the Detroit Free Press Award for Lifetime Achievement in Theatre. He continues to consult Creative Youth Development organizations and has co-founded a collective impact initiative called Detroit Excellence in Youth Arts (DEYA). As an actor and director, Sperling has worked regionally and as a guest artist for the University of Michigan. As a playwright, he has been devising scripts for forty years through a collaborative writing process which have been produced nationally and internationally. In addition to script consulting and providing additional dialogue for Hidden, Sperling has supported the creation of theatrical works by acclaimed playwrights Michael Dinwiddie (Northern Lights 1966), Rachel Urist (Children of Abraham) and Tanya Shaffer & Vienna Teng (The Fourth Messenger). Sperling is currently touring an original one- person play “A Joyride in Memory Care” about his mother’s journey through dementia.


ORCHESTRA:

SHAWN ROSE (Piano): Shawn does piano accompaniment for music classes, musical theatre, and for church services. He enjoys classical piano, and especially playing for vocal solo and chorus. He likes that the Hidden production team and its cast are “crawling with piano players.” He recently played the Fiddler in the Bryn Athyn Community Theatre production of Fiddler on the Roof.

MADISON RAST (Bass): North Carolina native Madison Rast graduated from the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem and received his MA from Virginia Commonwealth University as a recipient of the Carpenter Fellowship Scholarship. He moved to Philadelphia in the fall of 1999 to pursue a career in jazz. Since that time he has become one of the area’s most in-demand sidemen. His solid and steady bass lines have supported many notable musicians including Mickey Roker, Orrin Evans, Sean Jones, and Joanna Pascale. In 2012 he released his debut CD of original songs and arrangements. In 2014 he was part of a recording project with pianist Gary Dial and saxophonist Dick Oatts in which the poetry of Walt Whitman is set to original music. Since 2018, Madison has been among the collective of jazz musicians known as the Captain Black Big Band under the direction of Orrin Evans whose 2019 release Presence and 2020’s The Intangible Between were both nominated for a Grammy. Recently, Madison was featured on singer Amos Lee’s recording My Ideal, celebrating the music of Chet Baker.


ELI ROSEN (Guitar): I am happy to be making my debut with M7-productions. I have a long onstage history, but this is my first time in a pit orchestra! Guitar is my principal instrument. I have played for over 20 years. My side instruments include bass, harmonica, and mandolin. I play in the band Lonely at the Top, with whom I released an album in 2019 (available on Bandcamp.com). Aside from instrumental experience, singing has been a longtime mainstay in my musical realm. I have performed with the ACC for over 10 years, the Savoy Opera Company since 2016, and the Bucks County Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Society since 2022. I have also performed on and off with Everybody’s Theater Company since 2018. And now I am thrilled to make my M7 Productions debut in Hidden!


STEPHEN TOLNAY (Drums): Stephen Tolnay has been playing professionally in the Philadelphia area for the past 15 years.  A graduate of Temple University, he holds a Bachelor of Music degree with a concentration in jazz.  Besides playing, Stephen has taught both individual and group lessons to students of all ages and abilities.  When not at the drums, you can find him riding his bike, attempting to master the finer points of the culinary arts and playing chess.
